| This guide will explain some of the ways possible on this site to gain a bounty and make a name for yourself while doing it.
Gaining/Increasing a Bounty
Long Adventure: Depending on the nature of this encounter, this has the potential to earn you 20 million beli. The amount is contingent on how much destruction took place, how many people were hurt/killed and how the Pirate managed to escape. It also depends on how you are perceived as a threat. Surviving these sort of encounters won't be easy but the increase in bounty after doing so is substantial.
Short Adventure: Depending on the encounter, this has the potential to earn you up to 5 million beli. The amount is contingent on how much destruction took place, how many people were hurt/killed and how the Pirate managed to escape. It also depends on how you are perceived as a threat.
Small Threat: Depending on the encounter, this has the potential to earn you up to 5 million beli. The amount awarded reflects the strength of the adversary that was fought as well as the difficulty of the fight itself. Simply evading the encounter may still yield a bounty increase but as big as if you would have faced the threat head on.
Large Threat: Depending on the encounter, this has the potential to earn you up to 20 million beli. The amount awarded reflects the strength of the adversary that was fought as well as the difficulty of the fight itself. Simply evading the encounter may still yield a bounty increase but as big as if you would have faced the threat head on.
Powerful Pirate Battles: If it becomes known that your character has gone up against a powerful Pirate or someone with a good deal of reputation already (NPC or PC wise), and came out on the winning side or just plain alive, your bounty can go up 10 to 50 Million depending on the situation and how much of a reputation the enemy had prior to your battle.
Civilian Causalities/Destruction: This has the potential to earn you up to 1 million beli on your bounty and can only occur during a NPC supervised encounter or else it will not count. Your bounty can be inflated depending on the causalities and destruction that follow you. Depending on the area, of course. Most likely, your bounty will be larger if you strike areas of wealth where politics can easily influence your bounty amount. Likewise, if you are terrorizing areas that are poor or outside of the World Government control, it might be overlooked.
Taking Over a World Government Controlled Island: This has the potential to earn you over 50 Million depending on the site.
Taking Over Non-World Government Controlled Island: This will most likely not give you an increase in bounty or may award a small increase.
Unlawful Acts: Creating insane destruction and catastrophic consequences for Islands or the Marines in general can earn you from 75 to 100 Million. This is something that only the most hardened of Pirates ever dare to do if they wish to make a name for themselves. This may include attacking a Marine stronghold, resisting arrest/capture, assaulting a Tenryuubito, raiding a town or village, invading a country or kingdom, pillaging naval vessels, defeating someone with a larger bounty, etc.
Disclaimer: You are judged not only by your content, but on believability, fairness, and overall quality of the encounter as a whole.
Earning Shichibukai/Supernova Status: A pirate may choose to join the Shichibukai if a space becomes vacant (which means that at least one Shichibukai must resign or be expelled from the group). However, in order for one to become a Shichibukai once this position opens up, one must be able to exhibit their strength against other pirates while choosing to pledge loyalty to the World Government (this ironically encourages pirates to gain infamy to become a Shichibukai) by making a pact with the Gorosei. However as strong as a Pirate may be they must also carry a bounty of 300 million beli or higher to even be considered for a spot. Simple methods to become shichibukai entail but are not limited to:
- Defeating and turning in someone with a higher bounty than yourself
- Bargaining with the Gorosei using your own infamy
- Assisting the world government (Crushing a Pirate rebellion, saving an important official, assassinate a target of their choosing, etc.)
Supernova is a title awarded to only the top rookie pirates who manage to amass a bounty of 200 million beli at least. This forces the world government to recognize the strength of these individuals and the potential threat he/she may play later on in the future.
Benefits & Cons to a bounty: Benefits:
- Builds up your reputation making you more famous
- Opportunity to become a Shichibukai
- Less likely to be attacked by weaker adversaries
Cons:
- Harder to become stealthy or go incognito if you're notorious
- More experienced adversaries (NPC's) will be sent to apprehend/kill you
- NPC civilians may see you as a threat and alert the nearest World Government Marine Station
